The MYDRIASERT® insert is a new and original mydriatic treatment which employs a new generation of ophthalmic insert, and a combination of two mydriatic and cycloplegic active ingredients.

MYDRIASERT® is an insoluble insert which is suited to ocular administration. It produces and maintains a satisfactory degree of mydriasis, even though the amount of active ingredients released is very small, (about 40% of the dose contained in the insert, i.e. 14 to15 times less than the amounts of active ingredients provided by traditional eye drop preparations *

Once Mydriasert® is placed in the conjunctival fornix; the insert attracts water from the tears through a dialyzing membrane which dissolves the active ingredients enabling these substances to be slowly released.

Mydriasert® is the first ophthalmic insert in the world to combine two mydriatic drugs.
